There is help for those ensnared by drug addiction
To address the opioid crisis, Florida enacted a law in 2018 that changed the regulation for physicians writing opioid scripts for acute pain to a three-day supply from the previous average of 5.4 days. The law also requires physicians and pharmacists to verify a patient’s identity and to review the patient’s prescription drug history.
