Marco reduces taxes, adds contested bus service

Nine residents lined up to oppose the 50-passenger bus pilot program, which has the support of several businesses and restaurants. (Residents) maintained the continual bus service would just bring more visitors to the island by car who would then park in already congested parking lots.

A hotly contested pilot program to provide continual bus service on Marco Island during season is set to begin in January after two councilors’ attempts to derail it failed.
