The end of 2024 bids us recall those important to this community who have gone before us. We remember these Naples and Collier County residents, and hope to perpetuate the good they did: James “Leonard” Chesser, 83, on Jan. 18. Chesser was known as the godfather of swamp buggy racing, holding a record for most wins, with 26. He and his brother, the late Lonnie Chesser, founded a dynasty of racers carried on by their families.
