‘Alligator Alcatraz’ prompts 3 lawsuits
Plaintiffs concerned about environmental impact of center, living conditions, detainees’ constitutional rights
In the days since construction began at “Alligator Alcatraz” in Ochopee and it opened to accept immigrant detainees, three lawsuits have been filed to protect the environment, shut the center down, seek information, improve detainee conditions and protect their rights.
