From one art for another
More than 300 people partied down at Dimension Nightclub in Naples Aug. 21 for the second Embellished style show to support Bayshore Arts District’s group studio project. Models, many of them local volunteers, strutted the runway in evening-, day- and beachwear and in men’s clothing, too. The benefit netted more than $100,000, said Amanda Jaron, show founder and its creative director with cochairs Josey Prior and Kimberly Columbia and honorary chair Vicki Thomas Tracy. The event honored artist/philanthropist Jackie Morelisse and offered an extra: a collection from Grace Place Summer Fashion Academy, where students learned to design, sketch and hand-sew garments. It also will be showcased at an upcoming Bayshore Arts District First Friday.
Zetta Megenhardt showed an American flag dress created by Alanna Jewel Jaron for the patriotic holidays — and perhaps for the 250th birthday of the United States next year.

“I got it!” patron Heather Magnusson seems to be saying as she holds up a treasure she bid on at the Embellished auction.

Some patrons came to the Embellished show Aug. 21 in their own best runway looks, such as, left, Michelle Jordan and Natasha Brooks.
