An evolution in form and function
Dora Knuteson, inspired by nature and the coastline, has parlayed her inborn love of all things art into producing original art and prints, graphic design — and, lately, something new. She draws inspiration from the textures, patterns and colors of the beach. Waves, sea birds and tropical plants are woven throughout her impressionist-style art that relies on changing swaths of high color and a play on natural light of seascapes. Most recently, however, she has turned to reimagining shells, humble sea-treasures, into hand-painted and sometimes giltedged pieces; arranging them into a collage of sorts, her latest collection of shell wall art.
