Problems persist at Good Mood Ranch

Good Mood Ranch, at 306 Sabal Palm Road, faces $8,850 in daily fines through Sept. 8, press time, and the $150 county code enforcement fines are accruing daily. The South Florida Water Management District found owner Luc Goemaere cleared wetlands without proper permits to build the ranch and petting farm, and he was ordered to restore vegetation on 9.47 acres. The owner promised county officials he was “days away” from filing papers with the district to comply, but County Commissioner Rick LoCastro said last week that Goemaere only sent the district a letter.
